A Week in Tokyo (Sample Plan 1)

Arrive in Tokyo - Narita.

When you plan your stay in Japan, ensure you understand two things:
  • the season and
  • the potential holidays in Japan.

Why is it important?

Because, you might be unpleasantly surprised by:
  • the weather
  • the crowd

If you are from a colder area, for example Maine in the US, Canada, or Northern Europe, you want to avoid July to September.

It is humid and hot.
You'll, probably, run to a shopping mall.
You might look for another indoor attractions.
Why? Because, outside is horribly hot. It is difficult to breathe.

Bigger cities are a nightmare. The concrete desert makes already hot weather unbearable.

Also the season around Christmas and the New Year is not the best if you don't like cold weather.

The official temperature in Tokyo, is higher that in Detroit, Vancouver, Oslo, or Helsinki.

Yet, Tokyo is humid, so the actual feeling is -5ºC or even more.

The beauty of Winter in Tokyo is its bright and high sky.

The best seasons are Spring and Autumn, when Japan takes on the variety of colors.

If you arrive in Tokyo and plan to spend a week in Japan, then if it is your first time, you'll want to stay for a few days in Tokyo. You can actually take a train and get to a bit distant location
